1. Rehydration Project in Central Australia: Experience the groundbreaking rehydration project aimed at improving drought resilience at scale. We have constructed working demonstrations of landscape rehydration on four pastoral properties, strategically located in central Australia’s major watercourse catchments. Witness firsthand the implementation of innovative sustainable grazing systems and a fire reduction strategy for all project sites. Furthermore, we will evaluate the effectiveness of rehydration works on a pastoral station that has been undergoing such practices for over 40 years. 2. Cotton Farm on Tipperary Station, Northern Territory: Discover the emerging cotton industry in the Northern Territory, poised to make significant contributions to the economy and create employment opportunities in regional areas. Cotton is perfectly suited to Territory conditions, requiring relatively little water and exhibiting resistance to many pests. Learn about the cotton industry’s best practice management techniques, which prioritise environmental health while achieving high yields. Experience how the use of insecticides has plummeted by 97% since 1992, thanks to improved farm practices and pest-resistant cotton. Witness the potential of dryland and irrigated cotton cultivation and the positive impact it brings to the region’s economy, including job creation and opportunities for Indigenous Territorians.
3. Groote Eylandt’s Blue Economy Project: Embark on a virtual tour of the Groote Aqua Aboriginal Corporation, an integral part of our Blue Economy project in collaboration with the Anindilyakwa Land Council. This site showcases the implementation of an aquaponics system in Alyangula, aiming to train Indigenous individuals (unaccredited) in growing animal protein and leafy greens. By providing job pathways for the future, this project supports the community’s transition as the GEMCO mine reaches its conclusion in 10 years’ time.
