About the Northern Hub

The Northern Hub is dedicated to cultivating strong relationships with producers and pastoralists, equipping them with critical information, skills, and knowledge to enhance drought and climate resilience. By partnering and collaborating with industry, state governments, and other organisations, Northern Hub supports the agricultural industry and its communities to strengthen their ability to adapt to drought, extreme seasonal variations and long-term climate trends.

Proudly hosted by Charles Darwin University, the Northern Hub is one of eight national Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs, a key initiative of the multi-billion-dollar Future Drought Fund. It works alongside the other hubs to drive innovation and adaptation strategies that enhance drought resilience across diverse agricultural landscapes.

Our Region

The Northern Hub covers a vast and diverse geographical region, encompassing the entire Northern Territory and extending into northern Western Australia down to the Gascoyne. This expansive area represents some of Australia's most unique agricultural and climatic conditions, ranging from tropical and savanna regions to arid and semi-arid landscapes.

The Hub works closely with producers, pastoralists, Traditional Owners, and industry stakeholders across these regions to develop and implement strategies that enhance drought and climate resilience in the face of extreme seasonal variations.
